The January movement in the ports of Paraná set a new record for the month. There were 4,208,706 tons of cargo loaded and unloaded at the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina. The volume is 1% higher than the 4,157,538 tons in the same period in 2022. In exports, the highlights were corn, up 189% in January this year compared to January last year, bran (soybean and corn, up 17%), sugar (15%), soy oil and petroleum products (in January 2022 there was no shipment of these products). In imports, wheat (93%), barley/malt (26%), salt (100%), methanol (67%), vegetable oils and petroleum derivatives led the rises – the latter did not land in Paraná last year. “The increase recorded among bulk was what most contributed to the new high”, informs the director-president of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia.
