Following a testing phase in the second half of 2022, fertilizer rail transport between the Port of Itaqui and the producing areas is now in full swing. The Porto do Itaqui (COPI) company highly invested in the most modern fertilizer terminal in Latin America. The terminal has been consolidated with the start of operations that transport cargo from the port do Itaqui to the Palmeirante rail terminal (TO). The operator provides a daily supply of up to 40 wagons (3,700 t) on the market with the new stretch of railway. It has a modern conveyor belt system that allows it to unload a 100-ton wagon in 7 minutes.
