BRAZILIAN FERTILIZER IMPORTS REACH 21.8 MILLION TONS BY JULY

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) is concerned about a possible logistical bottleneck in the arrival of fertilizers for the 22/23 crop, which begins to be planted in September this year. According to the Minister Marcos Pontes, there are fertilizers available, but some producers are still waiting for the price to drop, which could create a logistical problem. The concern of Mapa occurs even though the volume of imported fertilizers reached 21.8 million in the year-to-dateperiod, which represents an increase of 14.7% in relation to the same period in 2021, according to Itaú BBA.
