Brazil’s exports to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries rose 1.25% year on year to US$758.14 million in June, ending three straight months of declines despite ongoing logistics disruptions linked to restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. First half exports to the bloc still fell 4.01% to US$4.17 billion. Shipments to all 22 Arab countries increased 3.73% to US$9.56 billion, supported by stronger sales to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Algeria. Sugar exports declined 7.45% to US$1.79 billion, while corn exports jumped 49.51% to US$794.9 million, helping offset weaker shipments in other key agricultural commodities.
