SANTOS PORT SEEKS EXPANDED PORT AREA TO SUPPORT FUTURE THROUGHPUT

The Santos Port Authority (APS) has asked Brazil’s Ports and Airports Ministry to review the port’s official boundaries to include additional logistics and operational areas excluded from the expansion approved in February. The request covers sites in Cubatão, São Vicente, Alemoa and Valongo, while the proposal remains under technical review with no timeline for completion. The approved expansion increased the port’s land area by 56%, from 9.3 million to 14.5 million square metres, and also enlarged its water jurisdiction.
