BRAZIL CORN OUTPUT SEES 115.8M T SECOND-CROP HARVEST, AGROCONSULT SAYS

Brazil’s 2025/26 second corn crop is forecast at 115.8 million metric tons, according to Agroconsult, up 3.3% from its initial May estimate of 112 million tons but below the 125.3 million tons harvested in the previous season. Planted area was maintained at 18.2 million hectares. Mato Grosso posted average yields of 130 bags per hectare, while Goiás saw a 34.6% decline to 83 bags per hectare. Mato Grosso do Sul reached 99.3 bags per hectare and Paraná 97.9 bags per hectare. Total Brazilian corn production is projected at 144.1 million tons, down from 152.3 million a year earlier. Domestic demand from feed and corn ethanol remains supportive, while larger crops in the United States and Argentina are expected to increase competition for Brazilian corn exports.
