Brazilian agribusiness exports hit record US$16.6 billion in April

Brazilian agribusiness exports totaled US$16.65 billion in April 2026, a record for the month since data-keeping began in 1997. The figure represents growth of 11.7% from April 2025. The result gave agribusiness a 48.8% share of Brazil’s total exports in the period. Among the main destinations for Brazilian agribusiness exports, China remained in the lead, with purchases of US$6.6 billion in April and a share of nearly 40% of the sector’s export basket. The result represents growth of 21.8% from the same month in 2025. The European Union ranked second, with US$2.36 billion and a 14% share, up 8.7% from April 2025. The United States followed, with US$1 billion in exports and a 6% share, despite a 16.8% year-on-year decline. Soybeans remained the leading product exported by Brazilian agribusiness. Foreign sales reached US$6.9 billion, up 18.8% from April 2025.
