BRAZIL SUGAR LINE-UP FALLS TO 1.28 MLN TONS AMID WEAKER EXPORTS

Brazil’s sugar line-up declined in the week to March 18, with 37 vessels (vs. 44) and scheduled shipments of 1.28 million tons, down from 1.56 million. Port of Santos leads loadings, followed by Paranaguá, São Sebastião and Maceió. VHP sugar dominates volumes. In March, exports reached 724,000 tons, generating US$276.5 million, with daily averages of US$27.6 million and 72,400 tons. Year-on-year, daily revenue fell 39.8%, volume dropped 25%, and average prices declined 19.8%, indicating a more pressured market.
