The East Export Corridor at the Port of Paranaguá has begun operating new telescopic tubes equipped with dust suppressors (DHS) for loading grain and bran onto ships. The BRL 12.2 million investment by Portos do Paraná is part of the port’s modernization effort aligned with environmental goals. Each tube can handle up to 2,000 tons per hour, using a vortex system that concentrates particles and reduces dust dispersion. In addition to environmental gains, the system offers lower energy consumption and simplified maintenance, as it requires no replaceable filters. According to Portos do Paraná, early results show a visible reduction in particulate matter and improved air quality, meeting Ibama’s requirements under the Air Quality Monitoring Program.
