EXPORTS OF BAGGED SUGAR ROSE 199% FROM PARANÁ PORTS IN JANUARY.

Cargo throughput at the ports of Paraná reached 5.29 million tons in January, up 12.3% year over year, driven by strong agricultural exports. Soybean shipments surged 98% to 811,900 tons, corn rose 12% to 387,000 tons, and bagged sugar jumped 199% to 397,000 tons. Frozen chicken exports totaled 199,000 tons (US$365 million FOB), mainly to the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and China, with the state handling 47.6% of Brazil’s total shipments. The Port of Paranaguá alone exported over 2.8 million tons of frozen chicken in 2025. Beef exports totaled 122,000 tons, largely to United States, China, and the UAE, while fertilizer imports reached 882,000 tons, up 9%.
