In 2025, Port of Suape handled 24.25 million tonnes, down 2.4% year-on-year, according to ANTAQ, mainly due to a temporary shutdown at the Abreu e Lima refinery that reduced liquid bulk volumes. Despite this, containers rose 7.54%, solid bulk grew 8.3%, breakbulk increased slightly, and vehicle handling climbed 5%, reinforcing Suape’s regional leadership. Infrastructure upgrades included deeper navigation channels and the arrival of a fully electrified terminal by APM Terminals. The port also attracted energy transition investments from European Energy and GoVerde, supporting long-term growth.
