According to Emater/RS-Ascar, harvest activity in Rio Grande do Sul is advancing quickly, but irregular weather continues to take a toll on crops. Corn harvest has reached 35% of planted area, aided by dry conditions, though productivity varies widely – irrigated fields are performing well, while rainfed areas are facing significant losses. Soybean development remains uneven, with much of the crop in the flowering and grain-filling stages, both highly sensitive to water shortages. Corn silage has also been impacted by water stress in earlier-planted areas, leading to early harvest in some regions.
