BRAZIL’S OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION IS PROJECTED TO GROW BY 13.3% IN 2025, REACHING A RECORD HIGH.

Brazil’s oil and gas production reached a record 4.897 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) in 2025, up 13.3% from 2024, according to the ANP. Oil output hit a historic high of 3.77 million barrels per day, while natural gas production rose 17% to 179 million cubic meters per day. Growth was driven mainly by the start-up of four new FPSOs in the pre-salt Santos Basin, reinforcing the sector’s role as a key driver of industrial growth. Pre-salt fields accounted for nearly 80% of total production, with the Santos Basin responsible for almost 78% of offshore output. Petrobras dominated production, operating over 90% of national output in December, while Rio de Janeiro remained Brazil’s leading oil-producing state.
