BRAZILIAN AGRIBUSINESS EMERGES AS PLANET’S FOREMOST FOOD SECURITY PROJECT

Brazil is solidifying its role as a strategic asset in global food geopolitics, combining massive productive scale, advanced tropical agriculture, available land, and expansion capacity, says Georgia Oliveira, CEO of Chãozão. Cargill research suggests 80% of the growth in global food consumption over the next 20 years will stem from ingredients produced in Brazil. This outlook is attracting significant foreign investment: in just the first seven months of 2025, U.S. interest in Brazilian farmland surged 15%, with Americans accounting for 41% of all foreign inquiries. Demand also comes from China, Japan, and Germany, focusing largely on soybean and cattle land in the Midwest and Matopiba region, reinforcing productive land as a vital global commodity.
