ANP CLEARS LAUNCH OF BRAZIL’S FIRST-EVER WHEAT ETHANOL PLANT

CB Bioenergia in Santiago (RS) has received authorization from Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to begin producing ethanol from wheat, making it the country’s first plant licensed for this biofuel. In its initial phase, the facility invested approximately BRL 100 million and is expected to process 100 tons of wheat daily, yielding up to 12 million liters of hydrous ethanol annually. The company plans to expand production to between 45 and 50 million liters per year by 2027.
