The soybean crop in Rio Grande do Sul for the 2025/26 season is showing satisfactory to very strong vegetative growth as planting nears completion, according to Emater. As one of Brazil’s top soybean-producing states, typically competing with Paraná and Goiás for second place after Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul could see its harvest reach 21.44 million tons, a 57.14% increase from the previous season, provided favorable weather continues. Unlike earlier-planting regions such as parts of Paraná and Mato Grosso, where harvesting has already begun, Rio Grande do Sul is the latest to plant in Brazil, with its harvest expected to intensify in January.
