The Port of Itaqui closed 2025 with the best performance in its history in fertilizer handling. By November, 4.22 million tonnes had been imported, exceeding the annual target by 15% and recording an 18% increase compared to 2024. In November alone, the port handled 578.1 thousand tonnes of fertilizers, the highest monthly volume ever recorded, surpassing the planned volume for the period by 20% and the result for the same month of the previous year by 26%. Supply chain diversification was also a key factor. Fertilizers arrived in Itaqui from different countries, with the leading suppliers being Russia (890.6 thousand tonnes), China (609.1 thousand tonnes), Egypt (558.9 thousand tonnes), Canada (367.1 thousand tonnes), and the United States (220.9 thousand tonnes).
