The Ministry of Ports and Airports is expected to present, by Friday (19), the authorization for the expansion of the Port of Santos’ polygonal area, based on a project prepared by the Santos Port Authority (APS). The proposal foresees a 162.4% increase in the complex’s area, from 7.8 million to around 20 million square meters, including regions of Cubatão and São Vicente. Submitted to the ministry at the end of 2024, the plan underwent public consultation in the second quarter of this year. According to APS, the project underwent technical adjustments, and at least part of it should be authorized by 2025. The Port of Santos’ polygonal area defines the boundaries of the organized port.
