Cargo handling in the Southeast reached a record 186.7 million tonnes in Q3 2025, up 9.1% year over year, driven mainly by Authorized Terminals, which handled 124.5 million tonnes (+13.6%). Public Ports grew modestly to 62.2 million tonnes (+1.09%). Oil-focused terminals led the surge: Açu’s TPET grew 38.06% (17.8 million tonnes), and Angra dos Reis rose 25.34% (18.8 million tonnes). The region surpassed previous years’ stability, showing stronger momentum than in 2023 and 2024. Minister Silvio Costa Filho said the performance reflects modernization and investor confidence. Santos handled 38.4 million tonnes (+2.68%) and saw cabotage jump 22.54%, while Itaguaí, centered on iron ore, remained strong with 17.3 million tonnes despite a slight decline.
