The Port of Pecém, Ceará’s main transport hub, is undergoing a R$1.2 billion expansion led by CIPP S/A, with the Port of Rotterdam Authority as a key partner. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the project will add a new grain berth (no. 5), extend pier two for ammonia loading linked to the future green hydrogen hub, and build berth 11 at the multipurpose terminal. With its modern infrastructure, deep waters, and strategic location just a week from Europe, Pecém is positioning itself as a hub for green hydrogen and diversified cargo. The Dutch partnership is credited with boosting efficiency and providing technical expertise, seen as elevating Pecém’s status from “economy class to business class.”
