A joint initiative between the Ministry of Ports and Airports and the Government of Rio Grande do Norte has been launched to establish the Green Industry Port in Caiçara do Norte. The Union has allocated BRL 11.6 million for technical studies (August 2025-July 2027) under the New PAC framework. These studies will conduct comprehensive technological, logistical, socioeconomic, and environmental analyses to enable a sustainable terminal dedicated to the energy transition, specifically supporting offshore energy and green hydrogen production in compliance with the Paris Agreement and UN SDGs. The National Secretariat of Ports will oversee the studies. This project is part of a broader BRL 141 million investment package in the state’s port infrastructure.
