CORN HARVEST REACHES 10,2% OF THE ESTIMATED TOTAL IN MS

As of July 4th, only 10.2% of Mato Grosso do Sul’s corn harvest is complete, mainly due to high grain humidity and a temporary shortage of trucks, particularly in the central region. Harvesting began in late May and will peak in July, continuing until late August. Delays in soybean planting earlier this year have also impacted corn timelines, especially in Chapadão do Sul. Grain moisture has slowed harvest starts on some farms. Economically, corn prices are under pressure due to high supply and a weakening dollar, though conditions are better than last year. Storage capacity and logistics will be key to determining profitability, as prices may rise later. Weather forecasts predict stable, dry conditions for the next 10 days, favoring continued harvesting.
