Mato Grosso’s second corn crop has reached 14.08% of the planted area, progressing by 6.88 percentage points this week. This remains behind last year’s pace (37.57%) and the historical average (26.76%) for this period, as reported by IMEA. The delay stems from later planting but does not concern farmers. With favorable weather conditions, productivity for the 2024-25 season is projected at 50.4 million tons, a 6.79% increase over the previous harvest. The institute expects harvesting to gain momentum starting in July.
