AGROCONSULT SEES RECORD FOR 2ND CORN CROP IN BRAZIL

Agroconsult forecasts Brazil’s second corn harvest in 2025 to hit a record 112.9 million tons, up 10.5% from the previous season. The planted area increased by 6.1%, to 17.9 million hectares. The Crop Rally is likely to confirm strong potential, with average yields predicted at 105 bags per hectare. Since this harvest accounts for more than 75% of Brazilian production, overall corn output could reach 140 million tons, the second-highest ever, closing in on the 141.8 million record set in 2022–23. Current conditions are better than last year, with Mato Grosso and Goiás on the verge of smashing yield records, despite drought worries in western Paraná. The hopeful view stems from strong crop health and positive predictions for the rest of the season.
