VLI AND COPI STARTS NEW FERTILIZER CORRIDOR

The new fertilizer import corridor in Arco Norte at the Port of Itaqui in Sao Luis (MA) was officially opened on Wednesday (14) by VLI and COPI, firms that provide integrated and multimodal logistics solutions. The project, which has combined investments of around BRL 400 million, is now up and running with a raw material handling capacity of up to 1.5 million tons annually, meeting the rising need for fertilizers in the country’s Arco Norte region. Operational tests were conducted at the end of 2022. In 2023, more than 100,000 tons of fertilizer inputs had already been transported through the corridor, which was built to serve producers in an area that includes the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Bahia, and Piau, as well as Tocantins, Maranhao, and the Federal District.
