THE 2023-24 SUMMER CORN HARVEST REACHED 15.3% IN BRAZIL

According to SAFRAS & Mercado, the harvest of Brazil’s 2023-24 summer corn crop reached 15.3% of the expected area of 3.972 million hectares on Friday (26). The states of Rio Grande do Sul (32.5%) and Santa Catarina (22.4%) are currently leading the harvest progress, while São Paulo and Minas Gerais are still in the early stages. However, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás/Distrito Federal, and Mato Grosso haven’t started the work yet. In the same period last year, the harvest covered 12.1% of the expected area. The average harvest over the previous five years is 10.2%.
