SUGAR EXPORT THROUGH PARANAGUÁ CONTAINER TERMINAL UP 4,500% IN 2023

TCP, the company that operates the Paranaguá Container Terminal, moved 1,840 TEUs of sugar between January and August 2023, an increase of 4,500% compared to the same period of the previous year. The export of the product is mainly directed to the African continent, from the state of São Paulo. The increase in the export of sugar by containers is the result of a number of factors, including the reduction in the cost of maritime freight, the flexibility of the transportation mode, and the climatic adversities faced by other suppliers of the product. TCP also reached a historical milestone by moving 16 million TEUs in its 25 years of operation.
