According to consultancy firm Pátria AgroNegócios, soybean planting in Brazil increased to 2.3% of the estimated area as of Friday, up from 0.40% in the previous week. This growth rate is higher than the five-year average for the same period, which is 1.71%. The increase was mainly driven by Paraná, and the country had reached 2.06% of the estimated area. The state of Paraná has seen good progress due to adequate moisture in the soil, while other states have been limited by heavy rainfall, which is expected to continue for at least another week. Paraná is the second-largest producer of soybeans in Brazil and has already planted 10.6% of the estimated area, surpassing the historical average of 9% for the period.
