SOYBEAN INDUSTRIALIZATION RECEIVES R$5.7BN IN INVESTMENTS

Companies in Brazil’s soybean supply chain are set to invest R$5.76 billion in new industrial plants and expansions over the next 12 months, according to ABIOVE. Although this is 4% less than the previous year, it’s still significant compared to the R$2.5 billion invested from 2020 to 2022. The industry has been expanding, with a 4.5% increase in capacity over the last year, and several new plants and expansions are planned, adding 19,350 tonnes of daily processing capacity. The growing demand for soybean oil for biodiesel and soybean meal for animal feed, as well as a potential record harvest, is driving these investments. Biodiesel production is set to increase, with new regulations pushing the blend in diesel to 15% by 2025 and 20% by 2030.
