SOYBEAN HARVEST 2023/24 REACHES 21% OF AREA IN BRAZIL, SAYS CONAB

The harvest of the 2023/24 soybean crop in Brazil has reached 21% of the planted area, with Mato Grosso leading with 45% of the area already harvested. The planting of the oilseed is almost complete, with 99.9% of the area sown. In the case of corn, the summer crop is in 97.3% of the area, 1.5% below last year. The harvest of the first crop reached 18.6%, with Rio Grande do Sul leading with 52% of the area harvested. The planting of the second crop is in 31.5%, with Mato Grosso and Paraná leading. The planting of cotton reached 95.37% of the area, with Mato Grosso the most advanced (98.4%) and Bahia the slowest (83.3%). In relation to beans, the planting is in 93.8% of the area, 6.2% below last year. Piauí is still planting the grain (74%). The harvest reached 34.3% of the area, 11.2% below last year. Finally, the planting of rice is in 99.3% of the area, 0.5% below last year. The harvest reached 4% of the area, 2.2% above last year. Santa Catarina (27%) and Goiás (12%) are leading the rice harvest.
