Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, announced the reinstatement of administrative and financial autonomy for the Port of Maceió, currently linked to the Rio Grande do Norte Docks Company (CODERN). This measure aims to promote the development of the state of Alagoas, enabling the efficient transportation of goods and attracting new investments. Autonomy is expected to be granted by the end of the year. The administrator of the Port of Maceió, Diogo Holanda, expressed gratitude to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira, for his dedication to this project, emphasizing that autonomy will enhance efficiency in processes and benefit the local economy by creating jobs and income.
