In January 2024, the Port of Itajaí experienced a high volume of cargo handling, with weekly double and triple berths for ships. The loads of profiled iron rebar and imported cars are particularly noteworthy. Since 2022, the port has operated 26 vehicles. The greatest cruise season in history, with 42 calls scheduled till April, is expected to generate more than BRL 60 million. The Port of Itajaí aims to recover in 2024 by consolidating activities and increasing employment and income.
