OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SUGAR-ENERGY SECTOR: CARBON STORAGE MARKET WILL GENERATE R$3.54 BILLION

The global carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCS) market is projected to grow from $3.54 billion in 2024 to $14.51 billion by 2032, according to Mohammed Gad, CEO of TDS. Gad will speak at the Carbonless Summit in São Paulo in November 2024, where experts from various countries will explore CCS’s potential, especially in Brazil’s sugarcane ethanol industry. Brazil’s ethanol, which already cuts greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%, could become carbon-negative through CCS. The new “Fuel of the Future Bill” will establish regulatory guidelines for CCS in Brazil, unlocking new revenue sources for ethanol plants through carbon credits and biofuel certification.
