As of October 3, soybean planting in Mato Grosso do Sul reached 3.9% (187 hectares), according to Aprosoja/MS and the Siga-MS project. The southern region leads with 5.8%, followed by the central (1.2%) and northern (0.1%) regions. Technical advisor Flavio Aguena highlighted that success depends on local soil and climate, stressing the importance of staggered planting to reduce weather-related risks. Currently influenced by a weak-to-moderate La Niña, the state’s rainfall will depend on various atmospheric factors. Most of the 2025/26 crop is expected to be planted between October 17 and November 14. The soybean area is projected to grow 5.9% from the previous cycle, reaching 4.7 million hectares, with an estimated production of 15 million tons and yield of 52.8 bags/ha. Soybeans average R$117.87 per bag, and corn R$49.52.
