INPASA SHIPS ITS FIRST CARGO OF CORN ETHANOL FROM BRAZIL

Corn-based ethanol manufacturer Inpasa Brasil, a subsidiary of Paraguayan Inpasa, exported its first corn ethanol cargo from Brazil to Japan, which received 7 million liters of industrial ethanol from the unit located in Dourados (MS). The European and Brazilian markets are already served by Inpasa’s units in Paraguay, but this is the company’s first shipment from a Brazilian plant. The announcement comes at a time when domestic hydrous ethanol consumption is still low, which puts more pressure on producers to pursue new opportunities. The variation in pump prices is the most overt sign of rising oil prices. However, only about 60% of the commodity’s global consumption is in the form of fuel.
