INPASA PURCHASES 50 FREIGHT WAGONS TO EXPAND ETHANOL TRANSPORT VIA RAILWAY

The Inpasa Group will more than double the capacity of transporting ethanol by rail. The Inpasa Group oversees producing 3.5 billion liters of ethanol from corn in Brazil, which accounts for 10% of the country’s total ethanol production. A volume of 1.01 billion liters per year will be conveyed with the purchase of 50 wagons and 2 locomotives, which will be managed by Rumo, at an investment of about BRL 100 million. Currently, the company ships ethanol by road, pipeline, river, sea, and train to 23 Brazilian states as well as four continents. In addition to increasing rail distribution, the company will save CO2 emissions by up to 60% by purchasing its own wagons.
