Brazilian fruit exports surged in 2023, reaching 1.06 million tons, a 6% increase from the previous year, and generating over $1.2 billion in revenue, marking a remarkable 26.73% growth. This achievement underscores Brazil’s diverse fruit production, global market recognition, and the tireless efforts of its producers. Guilherme Coelho, president of Abrafrutas, attributes this success to growers’ dedication to quality and sustainability. Mangoes led exports with a 51.52% increase, followed by melons, avocados, and oranges experiencing significant growth. However, banana exports declined by 33.3%, while papaya saw a 5% decrease. Watermelon exports surged by 8%, with projections indicating continued growth. Brazil remains a key player in global fruit production, particularly in mangoes, melons, grapes, oranges, bananas, and acerola.
