Deral predicts an output of 3.83 million tons for summer corn, which was harvested from 98% of its total area of 385.3 thousand hectares, an increase of 1.7% over initial forecasts and 29% over the previous crop. The summer corn crop has already been sown and is expected to develop well and produce large quantities, despite farmers’ concerns over the weather and the lack of rainfall. According to Deral, 14.13 million tons will be produced in an area of 2.43 million hectares, which represents a 6% increase in volume and an 11% decrease in area compared to the harvest of 2021-22. Thus, considering the two corn harvests, Paraná should produce 17.96 million tons of corn.
