CONAB CONFIRMS RECORD IN GRAIN PRODUCTION WITH 253.7 MILLION TONS

The National Supply Company (Conab), confirmed on Tuesday 11th, the record growth of grain production in the country in the 2019/2020 harvest, estimated at 253.7 million tons, growth of 4.8% or the equivalent 11.6 million tonnes on the production of the past harvest. According to the company, the flagship of the grains is controlled by soybeans and corn, which guarantee almost 90% of the national production. “With the area of the first crop fully harvested and the second crop in the process of concluding the harvest, attention is turned to the third crop and winter crops, still dependent on the climatic behavior that, until now, has favored these crops, ”the company said in a statement. According to Conab, the soybean harvest finished in the main producing regions. The only crops still take place in Roraima and Alagoas. The estimate is that the country will produce 120.9 million tons, a historic record, representing an increase of 5.1% in relation to the previous year. The corn production estimate this season, considering the three harvests, is 102.1 million tons, an increase of 2.1% in relation to the last year, and record in the historical series of Conab.
