BRAZILIAN TRADE SURPLUS AIMS TOWARD A STRONGER YEAR AMID CHALLENGES

Brazil’s trade balance surplus is projected to hit $77.3 billion in 2024, with estimates ranging from $71.4 billion to $93 billion. This follows a decline from $74.6 billion in 2023. Experts foresee an improvement in 2025 due to higher agricultural and oil exports, though global uncertainties persist, particularly concerning U.S. policies. The sharp outflow of dollars at the end of 2024 highlighted the trade balance’s importance. Forecasts for 2025 vary, with estimates between $80 billion and $93 billion. U.S.-China trade tensions could impact Brazilian exports, while oil production increases may boost trade. Despite uncertainties, Brazil’s diversified exports, including agricultural and industrial goods, are expected to stabilize the balance.
