The trade balance of Brazil recorded a surplus of US$ 8.813 billion in June, down 15.4% from the same month in 2021, a variation always calculated by the daily average. The figures were released on July 1st by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy. As for the first six months of 2022, the balance reached a positive result of US$ 34.246 billion, down 8.2% over the same period in 2021. Exports totaled US$ 32.675 billion last month, with an increase of 15.6% over the performance of June 2021. Imports, on the other hand, reached US$ 23.861 billion and increased by 33.7% over June last year. From January to June 2022, exports totaled US$ 164.059 billion, up 19.5% compared to the same six-month period in 2021. On the other hand, Imports stood at US$ 129.813 billion, an increase of 29.8%. In turn, the trade flow, the sum of exports and imports, the main indicator of economic balance according to Secex, reached US$ 293.872 billion in the period, an increase of 23.9%.
