BRAZIL REACHES A NEW RECORD WHEAT CROP

Wheat production in 2022 reaches a new record with an estimated 9.5 million tons, an increase of 23.7% over the previous crop, according to the 3rd Grain Harvest Survey released by the National Supply Company (Conab). If compared to the volume harvested in 2019 (5.1 million tons), the wheat output almost doubled. The good result is due to market conditions as the demand for wheat continues to be strong and the global supply is restricted. The increase in the last harvest also generated record exports. In the last commercial year, Brazil sold just over 3 million tons of wheat, and this volume should be maintained in the 2022/23 cycle.
