Brazil exported 2.11 million tons of rice in 2022, earning USD 657.4 million in revenue. The volume is nearly double that of 2021, when shipments totaled 1.14 million tons, generating USD 359 million in revenue. The good performance is because global trade has now returned to normal and due to the promotional activities carried out by the sector in strategic markets via the Brazilian Rice project. Last year, processed rice exports increased as well, reaching 588.2 thousand tons, worth US$ 190.6 million. Processed cereal shipments increased by 34% in quantity and 14% in value compared to 2021.
