AGRO RUSHES TO SHIP 3.6 MILLION TONS OF SOYBEANS TO FREE UP WAREHOUSES FOR THE NEW CROP

The lack of storage facilities for nearly half of what was harvested in the record-breaking 2022/23 season and the arrival of the new cycle are putting pressure on agriculture in the state of Paraná to transport millions of tons of soybeans to the Port of Paranaguá in the next 90 days, risking the loss of production. The new rule in the sector is to sell and transport soybeans as quickly as possible. In order to make space in silos and warehouses for the upcoming crop already in the fields, many rural producers and grain traders have decided to intensify their sales, considering that the expected rise in grain prices has not materialized, with a sack still priced at around R$ 130. The Port of Paranaguá is gearing up to handle a significant increase in soybean transportation, and the construction of a new terminal, the Moegão, promises to enhance cargo reception efficiency by rail and expand railway transportation.
