AGRICULTURE EXPORTS TOTALED US$ 9.9 BILLION IN FEBRUARY

Brazilian agribusiness exports reached US$ 9.9 billion in February of this year, a 5.6% drop from the US$ 10.48 billion reached in February of 2022. The quantum index, which fell by 11.7% during the months of February 2022 and 2023, was the leading cause of the decline. Wheat (-283.53 thousand tons), sugarcane (-615,96 thousand tons), and soybeans (-1.07 million tons) were the three commodities with the highest decline in export volume. An increase in the export price index of 6.9% lessened the drop in international sales. Brazilian agribusiness exports for the first two months of the year were US$ 20.1 billion, a record high. The highlights include record-breaking exports of corn, cellulose, chicken, pork, soybean meal, and oil.
