CUSTOMS CLEARANCE FOR NEW PORT OF VITORIA AREA IN FINAL STRETCH

Customs bonding for the expansion of Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV), in Vitoria, is in its final stage, with authorization expected within 20 days, according to port officials. The process depends on pending responses from Log-In Logistica before documentation is forwarded for final approval. TVV, the only container terminal in Espirito Santo, has faced capacity constraints amid sustained demand. The expansion adds 65,000 sqm to the existing 103,000 sqm back area, enabling up to a 40% increase in throughput. BRL 35 million in infrastructure works has been completed, but operations remain on hold pending clearance from the Federal Revenue Service. The delay, now exceeding 160 days, raises concerns over export flows, particularly conilon coffee shipments. Once approved, the upgrade is expected to ease bottlenecks and support higher cargo volumes.
