XP PROJECTS SUGARCANE CRUSHING OF 623.2 MILLION TONS IN THE CENTER-SOUTH IN 2026-27

A global sugar oversupply, sustained price pressure, and production mix uncertainty will define the 2026–27 global sugarcane crop, according to XP Research. Even with improved conditions in the Center-South and estimated crushing of 623.2 million tons, the combination of ample supply, flat global demand, and sustained Brazilian exports is expected to keep a lid on any significant price reaction. XP expects 49.7% sugar blend and 42.1 million tons of production to maintain market balance. Off-season ethanol prices should remain constant, but a strong alcohol mix and rising corn ethanol supplies might lower them in the second quarter of 2026.
