In 2024, Brazil set a record with 34.03 million tons of sugar exported, a 20.3% increase from the previous year. Wilmar remained the top trader, shipping 7.14 million tons (21% of the total), though its share dropped from 26.4% in 2023 due to rising competition from Sucden, Alvean, and Raízen. These four companies handled 58.6% of all sugar exports, totaling 19.94 million tons. In all, 27 companies exported over 100,000 tons each. The market’s growth and shifting shares highlight the intensifying competition among major players in Brazilian sugar exports.
