According to data from Freightbras, the volume of sugar road freight in Brazil rose 58.2% between January and October this year, when compared to the same period last year, with good weather conditions in some regions, in addition to producers and transporters resorting to more self-employed truck drivers in search of cost reductions. According to the online cargo transport platform, the highest freight growth occurred in the state of Goiás (+182%), where weather conditions were more favorable, pointing to a harvest increase, despite the fall in the production area; followed by Paraná (+47%), São Paulo (40%), and Minas Gerais (36%), where the good rains enhanced the crop.
