In September, VLI achieved a monthly record for fertilizer unloading at its Luiz Antonio Mesquita Port Integrator Terminal (Tiplam) in Santos (SP), handling 285,000 tons imported from North America, the Middle East, and China. These supplies are destined for agricultural centers in Goiás, Minas Gerais, and Mato Grosso. Handling roughly 90% of the nation’s rail transport for inputs like sulfur and ammonia, VLI integrates Tiplam into the Southeast Corridor, linking production zones from the countryside to the coast. Following the recent dredging to increase the terminal’s draft, a single vessel was able to discharge 72,600 tons, the highest volume ever recorded at the facility.
